Our Priorities
In order to make progress on the community commitments of We Belong, We Learn, We Lead, the Coalition worked with district and school leaders to identify three key priority areas to focus our work over the next five years: building human-centered systems and relationships, cultivating student engagement and learning, and strengthening collective leadership.
Building Human-Centered Systems and Relationships
We envision a school and district community where every student, staff, and family member experiences a genuine sense of belonging. We commit to building a “beloved community” where we care for one another and where the richness of diversity in our community is honored, valued, and uplifted.
Cultivating Student Engagement and Learning
Learning should be joyful, innovative, and built upon student strengths. We strive to ignite passion for learning by placing student voice and agency at the heart of teaching and learning. With active, engaging, and culturally sustaining learning experiences in every classroom, students will be prepared to navigate and lead in the complex and ever-changing world.
Strengthening Collective Leadership
Our students are the hope of our future world. They have the passion, drive, and talents to make a difference. The education that students receive in Bellevue will equip and empower them, collectively, to improve conditions for people (humanity) and planet (environmental sustainability).
